Floor levelling & subfloor

A floor is only as flat as what is under it. Nicolai levels concrete subfloors with self-levelling compound, using his own materials, and boards timber floors with plywood. It is the step most fitters skip and the reason his floors stay flat.

Questions

How do I know if my floor needs levelling?

Nicolai checks it at the survey with a straight edge. Glue-down LVT and herringbone need it most.

How long before the floor can go down?

It depends on the compound and the depth. He plans it into the job and tells you the timing.
